Hazard Identification
HGS Engineering routinely assists governmental and industrial clients identify and qualify hazards in the workplace. HGS’ staff is certified to identify lead and asbestos in the workplace. The company has the equipment and expertise to assist clients challenged by Sick Building Syndrome. HGS routinely monitors air quality for the presence of targeted chemicals.

Root Cause Analysis
HGS professionals have conducted extremely complex probabilistic risk assessments on a suspected anthrax release and on the fate and transport of a chemical warfare agent release to the environment. HGS has assisted management and insurance companies determining the underlying safety issues that resulted in accidents, failure and injuries.


HGS Engineering has provided lockout/tagout services to dozens of federal and private clients. HGS staff review applicable equipment under the OSHA standard and develop procedures to ensure sufficient hazardous energy control. Work also includes labeling of all energy sources, posting of procedures, training and annual audits for facilities with hundreds of pieces of equipment.
